These steps contain prompting questions that you can ask yourself either in the aftermath of a triggering situation (so that those overwhelming emotions and sensations actually make some sense and don’t hang around longer than necessary), or in the heat of the moment (which will be easier to do once you’ve moved through the process a few times).
